Studio Calico Project Life kits

OH HECK YES

Oh heck yes it feels good to work with Studio Calico kits once again. I received the Carolina Moon kits and used just the Project Life kit for an entire spread featuring Jack in the months February and March. While I would love to be able to finish weekly spreads, it's just not a sustainable and realistic method for memory keeping for me. I prefer to extract the highlights and things I want to include and I'm not putting too much pressure on myself to even keep it chronological. I have set up client albums entitled, "Through the Years" full of random layouts and photos, so I am thinking it's okay if I want to do the same for myself.

Here's the spread I made using just the Project Life kit and some watercolors and stitching.

Amy Tangerine documents her life
happy go lucky kid

Those photos of Ava and Jack holding hands just make me melt! They've known one another since they were just a few months old and I love the way they get along.

Then I used some of the add-ons from Carolina Moon kits - and if I were to just choose one, I would pick Katharine. Those large rubber hearts are almost good enough to bite.

Studio Calico Park Avenue Kit Layouts

Happy Thanksgiving! I'm thankful for a lot of things, but wanted to mention how thankful I am that YOU are coming to read my blog. I truly appreciate it! Every month I feel like I don't have quite enough time to use my SC kits, but this time, I carved out a few days and was able to get caught up on several occasions I wanted to document. Love the Studio Calico Park Ave kits and the mix of colors and patterns. I incorporated various techniques like stamping, sewing and painting with watercolors. If you're looking to get only 1 or 2 add-ons, I would highly recommend Helmsley and Ritz. Here's how my projects came together.amy tangerine + studio calico amy tangerine + studio calico amy tangerine + studio calico amy tangerine + studio calico amy tangerine + studio calico amy tangerine + studio calico amy tangerine + studio calico amy tangerine + studio calico IMG_2048 amy tangerine + studio calico amy tangerine + studio calico For Project Life spreads, I really wanted to utilize the pocket pages for the opening party for Hello Kitty Con. I ended up taking quite a few photos that will likely just go into a mini, but I did want to tell this story in my regular album as well. I used the good vibes only card (even though I really wanted to hoard it) from Grand Central. The stamps from Lenox Hill look very Hello Kitty-ish. And of course I love the look of the Kal script wood alpha too.amy tangerine + studio calico Using the Project Life main kit only I created a spread covering 3 full days of fun. amy tangerine + studio calico

Australia client pages

Although I adore my clients and the work they provide immensely, each time I get a box full of photos and memorabilia from their travels, I get itchy to go somewhere. amy tangerineThis time it happens to be Australia and their exciting adventures to places I have and haven't been. The Great Barrier Reef is definitely on my bucket list too! Used various Studio Calico Walden kits here. Their album will be a collection made up of a mix of all kinds of pages - 12x12 mostly, some 8.5x11, and pocket pages thrown in.amy tangerineGuess I'll just have to live vicariously through their experience for now!

Studio Calico Walden Kits!

When these Walden kits arrived at my doorstep, I was in the midst of the usual craziness. Jack isn't walking yet, but since my dad and his wife were in town, he has been pushing around a motorbike-walker-thing like crazy. And now it seems like he's running. Thankfully, I carved out some time to make some of my favorite layouts using photos of my favorite guy. These kits are really awesome and make me realize that I am truly obsessed with leaves. Here's how a couple layouts came together using only the Scrapbook kit.amy tangerine + studio calicoamy tangerine + studio calicoamy tangerine + studio calicoamy tangerine + studio calicoamy tangerine + studio calicoamy tangerine studio calicoamy tangerine + studio calicoamy tangerine studio calicoUsing the Concord and Baker Bridge add-ons (these leaves are so beautiful, I want 10 packs), I used black and white photos for this neutral page of Jack's early months. I stitched the numbers with my Comrade embroidery kit and kept the photos & numbers as the focus of the page against the white. If I were to only get 1 add-on this month, it would definitely be a toss up between Concord and Baker Bridge.amy tangerine + studio calicoamy tangerine + studio calicoamy tangerine + studio calicoamy tangerine studio calicoAnd last but not least, using only the Concord kit, I wanted to make a layout for my mom's birthday.amy tangerine studio calicoFor this Project Life spread, I used the Walden kit along with photos and memorabilia to tell most of the story. If I felt the need to do more journaling, I would probably do so on a card and just slide it into one of the pockets. For now, this feels like the perfect balance of photos + product to me. Not to mention faces, food, and fun things.amy tangerine studio calicoIt's starting to feel a little like fall around here, and apparently on my layouts too. There's a leaf on every single project except for one. You can shop for all Walden kits here and see all my projects here.
