Spotlight on Neat & Tangled

Neat & Tangled

This past Saturday I worked a scrapbooking on-site gig at The Montage for a client. As much as I love working these parties, it was Paige who really LOVED being there. Since she's in Germany for a few years and can't actually fly in for a weekend to work a party for us (darn it), the closest thing we could come to was having her help with prepping pages. You can read more about her experience with working events for us in this post. She's done this for a while and we have an excellent system that's worked quite well. And yes, I would much rather have her here in LA to help, but this comes as a pretty close second. She sent her awesome punched and stitched pages and I added my touches with Neat & Tangled products. The owner, Danielle, sent over a package of goodies for me to use including their awesome sequin packs. Their high quality stamps are available at Simon Says Stamp as well as on their own website.

We also love using hand-stitched titles on the pages as well as embellishments and stickers. The guests usually write notes to accompany the photos taken at the event. I didn't snap many photos while I was there - but couldn't resist this one of the mom and some friends. They clearly were having a blast at the bat mitzvah. And even without Paige present, I did too!

And because this is just too cute not to share, here is a photo of Everly in a custom onesie we made. We were commissioned by Jennifer McGuire to make this as a gift for Danielle's daughter. How adorable is she?

Courtney + Jon's wedding video and scrapbook pages

Best Wedding Video from Betsy Hansen on Vimeo.

I'm back in Florida for a few days. The last time I was here was for a very special occasion. My best friend's wedding is featured on this wedding blog and I'm overjoyed to be able to relive her big day. Here are some of the pages we made for her wedding album gift. Her photographers did an amazing job capturing her wedding, and there were so many photos to choose from. We printed the photos in 3x4 (current favorite size) with Persnickety Prints and the quality is unbeatable.amy tangerine amy tangerine amy tangerineSupplies: Shimelle collection | Amy Tangerine | and some Studio Calico kits thrown into the mix.

Australia client pages

Although I adore my clients and the work they provide immensely, each time I get a box full of photos and memorabilia from their travels, I get itchy to go somewhere. amy tangerineThis time it happens to be Australia and their exciting adventures to places I have and haven't been. The Great Barrier Reef is definitely on my bucket list too! Used various Studio Calico Walden kits here. Their album will be a collection made up of a mix of all kinds of pages - 12x12 mostly, some 8.5x11, and pocket pages thrown in.amy tangerineGuess I'll just have to live vicariously through their experience for now!

stitching + stamping

20140216-071453.jpgWhen it comes to scrapbooking for live events, we do much of the prep work beforehand according to the client's requests. This particular Bar Mitzvah, held at the SLS Hotel, was black, white and silver themed. The hand stitching and stamping is better to get done in the studio. At the event we can focus on the guests, photos, embellishments and the hand written notes.20140216-071513.jpgSupplies: Elle's Studio stamps and Mama Elephant ink in Smoke (the perfect grey!) hold the phone

20131223-082156.jpgAbout a month ago, my cousin Kristi was in town for the weekend. I was booked on Saturday night for scrapbooking a Bat Mitzvah at the Montage in Beverly Hills, and she happily came with me. There were several photo op's available - a red carpet near the entrance (which I never saw), ours with The Green Screen - photographed above, an old school photobooth, and what I think is the coolest new vendor I've ever seen. The company makes phone cases from your favorite photos on the spot. You choose the photo you'd like for them to use and take a screen shot of it. Then you hand it over to them and they connect it to a cord, make some adjustments and minutes later, you get a high quality case for your phone. The hardest thing about this process is perhaps deciding which photo to use. I chose this one for me.20131223-082226.jpgKristi picked a photo she took of Jack boxing on the sofa.20131223-082107.jpgAnd I had this awesome shot made into one for JC.
