Altenew Watercolor Brush Markers Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

As you probably already know, I am pretty obsessed with watercolors and brushes, so when Altenew combined the two, I was beyond excited to try them. Create stunning works of art with these Watercolor Brush Markers. The barrel is filled with water-based color, and coordinates with Altenew’s line of inks. The flexible, yet sturdy bristles on the brush tip allow you to form both broad and fine strokes. Color can be applied straight from the marker, or diluted with water for a softer look.

I loved diluting them with water and even blending colors while doing lettering. You can see how I played around in this video on my YouTube channel. In this case, things are even easier than that because this is a Blog Hop! I'm so excited to be part of Altenew's Washi Tape Release Blog hop. These washi tapes are so colorful and interesting. When I say they are out of this world, I’m not exaggerating. The second I saw them, I was already planning out new and exciting things to try with them! They come in so many different widths and patterns, you could use one for literally *any* occasion. I used them in three very different projects with incredible results— you can see for yourself below. The first was a scrapbooking page that I created layering the beautiful, cosmically themed washi tapes and placing photos around them later. The effect is so rich and multi-dimensional. I added some doodles, stamping, and hand-lettering to finish it all and really bring the vibrant pinks, purples, and golds together.

The second project was a spread in one of my most recent traveler’s notebooks. You can read all about our family’s adventure RVing along the California Coast. Some of the washi tapes are wide enough to turn into awesome shapes and backgrounds. That’s what I got to play around with here:

And last but not least, I simply tore a strip of the amazing rainbow washi tape and stuck it down the edge of my Hobonichi.

When All Your Sticker Dreams Come True

OMG! As you know, I am crazy about stickers. Although the dream of designing them came true years ago, I recently had the pleasure of curating the Pipsticks June pack! (Spoiler alert - there's a 15% discount code at the bottom off any pack!) It's a secret that was hard to keep, as all the way back in January, the founder Maureen let me go through hundreds of packs of stickers to select my favorites. Behind the Scenes at Tieks

You know those crazy, fun ideas that you get in your head in the middle of the night or while standing in the shower? I have quite a few of those that actually come to fruition, and this was definitely one of them. I've been dreaming up these shoefies for quite some time. Executing them in a place other than my driveway was something I thought would be really fun to do. At the end of June, I painted this in the Tieks parking lot. 

In the photo I posted on the 4th of July, I am wearing Tieks in Cardinal Red. They posted this one on their Instagram the same day: 

It was a really fun project and I also filmed a behind the scenes video.

The photo with the kangaroo and the mustard yellow Tieks is mine! So neat.

Thomas & Friends Push-N-Play

We were going to wait for daddy to come home from work to put Jack's new Thomas & Friends Push-N-Play together. Although Jack has never watched Thomas on TV, he is obsessed with the trains and also the books. I got a little too excited about the arrival of his new gift from Dynacraft, so I decided to set up the camera and just try to do put it together ourselves. Jack was really into the entire process and helping along every step of the way.
