Raven and Lily

“When women move forward, the world moves with them.” – African Proverb

I was so inspired to be featured in Raven and Lily’s site and journal. We all have that one pair of earrings or necklace that gets all the compliments and catches people’s attention. Raven and Lily’s Zia earrings are like that for me. Whenever I wear them, I get so many comments and questions. Even though they’re a larger size, they are light as a feather and so comfy it feels like there’s nothing weighing me down. Jewelry that is beautiful, unique, and comfortable?? Sign me up! That’s why I am so thrilled to share my feature in @ravenandlily's Fall campaign.

I'm giving away a gold pair of the Zia earrings along with an Ellsworth ring and Essential bangle on my Instagram post.

Raven and Lily

The best part about each of these pieces is that they are lovingly handmade by women artisans, all of whom earn a living wage and an opportunity to provide for their families by creating these beautiful items. I love it when I get to partner with companies that do their best to make a difference in the world and support women across the globe. That’s why I wanted to share a quote from their website. It sums up so perfectly why it’s such a great company:

“Raven + Lily  believes in empowering women. When women are empowered to earn an income, they reinvest 90% of their income back into health,  education, food, children, family, and the community. Our partners set the price we pay, ensuring a livable wage. This empowers the 1500+ women employed by our work to break the cycle of poverty through equitable trade and open communication. We research the source of our materials, down to the button in order to understand how our production cycle impacts people and the planet at every stage. By using recycled or repurposed materials, we stop the waste that typically accompanies the industry.”

We Love KidBox!

Kid Box Summer Update

Getting boxes in the mail can make every day feel more like a holiday! It’s so exciting to unwrap the packaging and see what new, exciting thing is waiting for you, especially when you can color all over the box after you  open it. KidBox is a clothing subscription service designed specifically for little ones like my Jack, who is really loving his summer freedom. Unlike other subscriptions, you only pay for what you keep! We end up keeping everything that comes in the box because not only is it the best value, but it also means Kidbox will clothe a child in need! How awesome is that? We have always tried to infuse the values of giving back in different ways, and this is such a wonderful way that even a four and half year old can understand.

Now that he’s graduated from preschool, he spends his days going to swim lessons, visiting the park, and creating his own art projects. Occasionally, he even drops in to the studio to help sort markers in rainbow order or stage his own photos!

Kid Box Summer Update

Unlike my growing boy, I don’t get summers off. Any type of time saver is actually a lifesaver! As many of you know, Kidbox sends us boxes with 7-8 items about 5 times per year. That might sound like a lot of math but it actually adds up to a ton of savings! Each box only costs $98.

We Love Kidbox!

This was our second box from Kidbox (read about the first one here) and as you can see, the new selections did not disappoint. You can order boxes for infants through size 14 and tailor clothing selections based on your child's preferences through a fun little online quiz. It's simple, fast, and easy. It frees me up to spend my downtime having fun with my son this summer.

DISCOUNT: To receive 20% off your first Kidbox order, use the code JACK20 at checkout. Happy shopping!

This post is in collaboration with Kidbox, all ideas and opinions are my own. As always, my creative partners and I appreciate the support.

Make Something Everyday

Make Something Everyday

I truly believe that one of the best ways to craft a life you love is to do something creative everyday. I'm passionate about infusing creativity into our lives and inspiring Jack to express himself through art. Hoping this 15 minutes of fun on the sidewalk brightens someone's day. Hoping to do more of these shoefies around town. What are you making today?

My boots (under $80!) can be found here and Jack's awesome loafers (in Cognac) can be found here.

Can I Get A Heck Yes?!

Amy Tangerine Heck Yes Tee for Cents of Style

It's something I say a little too often, along with "amazing", "awesome" and "oh my gosh", which after being told by some children that I said a bad word, I am now going to try and change to "oh my goodness". I had no idea! Goodness sounds better anyway. In any case, you may remember my collaboration with Cents Of Style where we used the Heck Yes on a zippered pouch? Well, it's back and this time it's on a tee shirt just in time for Spring!
