An interview, a podcast and getting published

So much going on around here lately, but not feeling too overwhelmed. Just yet. I have three fun things to share.

1. A while back, I received an email from Susan of Fuller By Design to see if I was interested in being a part of her interview series "Motherhood by Design: 52 Creative Mothers Talk About the Intersection of Motherhood and Creativity". I was honored she reached out to me about something I find to be a fascinating topic. I loved her interview with Elise. And though I was slammed with many deadlines and other demands, I chose to make it a priority and answered her questions. Hopefully you'll enjoy reading the responses here. 

2. I was recently on the Paperclipping Roundtable with Noell Hyman, Izzy Video (not his real last name, but I have to call him that especially after the recording) and May Flaum. We discussed the process of the last layout we each created and I learned quite a bit! Going to try and scraplift Noell's and May's awesome layouts soon. 3. It's been a while since I've been published in any magazines, so it was really fun to see the Summer 2015 issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today. I miss getting to hold scrapbook magazines since so many of them have gone away. Loved receiving my print copy. You can see the entire magazine online here. My colorful layout is on Page 24. 

Project Life update

Sharing another spread today. This was done after a fun chat with Elise Blaha and Becky Higgins on the Paperclipping Roundtable. I really wanted to keep it simple after the discussion. I had my photos printed with my Canon SELPHY CP900 Wireless Photo Printer. I find that wirelessly beaming photos to the printer via the Canon IEPP app has helped a huge amount. I then tried to complete the entire spread in under an hour. Happy to report that it worked.SUPPLIES: I used mainly the Cut & Paste Project Life mini kit that will be available next month. Also, I used an item available for pre-order from Simon Says Stamp - this Lawn Fawn Stitched Journaling Card die. cravings

Food wise, I haven't had any unusual cravings, really. Though my mom would say that the baby definitely wanted some boba tea in the first trimester. I have been eating a little something sweet every day, which is a bit different for me considering I used to be notorious for saying I wasn't a dessert person. For the most part, my mornings start with a smoothie - frozen strawberries, pineapple, mango, blueberries, spinach and orange juice. There's no ice necessary because the fruits are frozen! Sometimes I add just a little water. When blended, it turns green and you can't even taste the spinach. It's the best and my go-to. Often a batch is made large enough to save for the next day - and just needs to get mixed with a spoon. photo from a couple weeks ago on Instagram.Last night JC called in and ordered from Hostario del Piccolo and walked over to pick it up for us while I cued up Mad Men. We had a delicious dinner at home (we will really miss living so close to such amazing restaurants). Always Gotta Look Fly

Had the fun chance to chat with Teresa Collins, Heidi Swapp and Noell Hyman on Paperclipping Roundtable yesterday. I wasn't looking very fly in my sweatshirt and lululemon pants, but that's what makes recording a podcast so great - no one had to see me! Other than the fact that I had the song that Heidi sang 1 line of in my head all day (sorry it might get into yours too) - I really enjoyed the conversation. One thing I remembered in the afternoon that I forgot to mention on the show was that Teresa was the first scrapbook celeb I met back in 2007 when she came to Sweetpeas and Snapshots. I wonder if she even remembers that. And when I was cropping at Sweetpeas on a random Wednesday, Britney Spears came in the store (and paparazzi filled the windows with their flashbulbs). While she was shopping in the store, she filled her basket with tons of Heidi Swapp bling. She may have even cleaned out the entire store of it. You can have a listen to Episode 146 here. Learning to Share

Not too much time to blog, but wanted to check in really quickly. In deadline mode, which means no distractions besides Instagram (hey - it's quick and easy) for the next couple days. I posted a pic using Mister Huey's (open it up and dip your paintbrush into it) to paint white foam Thickers. And today I got multiple happy packages - one of them being the Fiskars Fuse, which is something so easy to use, Mommy has been playing with it for the past hour. In between wrapping up projects for my book and making hospital runs to visit Ahpo, I am just trying to remain focused on what's most important. Prioritizing is something that I constantly work on and has a way of testing my balancing skills often. Grateful that the creative energy is currently up, (please stay this way!) and I need to take advantage of it.

This morning I had the pleasure of chatting with some extremely talented ladies on The Paper Clipping Roundtable's episode 31. We chatted about various things, including the importance of documenting what is happening right now. Hope you'll have a listen while getting crafty!
